I have been on the
Scioto Valley Association Board of Directors for

and am the current 2010 Treasurer. I am also an
independent business owner. I am very familiar
with the Association finances and budgets as I
have been heavily involved in the Leadership
Team. I am also very familiar with QuickBooks
which is what the Association uses and I have
used it for many years in my own business.
When elected to this
position, my goals will be:
If elected, or in my
case re-elected, I will continue to monitor the
association bookkeeping and budgets to be sure

What I have to offer
our Association by being part of the Leadership
Team?
I am a graduate of
Ohio University where I conferred the degrees:
Bachelor of Science in Communication with high
honor distinction, and a minor in Psychology,
and Associate in Applied Business. I am a
certified Train the Trainer. I continue to be an
active member of the Scioto Valley Association
of REALTORS®. I have consecutively served on the
SVAR Board of Directors and Executive Committee
for the past 6 years. I have represented and
currently serve the SVAR at OAR and NAR
committees, conferences, and conventions as a
voting delegate and/or Director, a committee
member on several committees, and participation
with forums. I am the Legislative Committee
Chair for the SVAR, and help with other
committees or taskforces when needed. As Real
Estate sales have slowed throughout the
industry, I have kept my focus on the industry
and continue learning by staying active within
all 3 Associations.
When elected to this
position, my goals will be:
I have had the
occasion to personally witness first-hand, the
strength, generosity, and sincerest sense of
family that the members of the Scioto Valley
Association of REALTORS® offer. To honor this
spirit, my first goal is to always keep the
focus of the Association to be working for its
membership. My goal has always been to have as
few rules for membership as to make it possible
to come together and make sales. Not to have so
many regulations that it becomes impossible to
do our job because we are just trying to comply
with the Association. The SVAR has continued to
retain most of its current membership and gain
new members while some Associations have folded
throughout the Nation. Their membership have
often times been absorbed by larger mega
Associations with stern rules and steep-levied
fines. I am proud to be a part of an Association
with a rich history, which is respected locally
as well as at the State and National levels.
Also planning for the future and if elected at
such time, it is still my goal to serve the
Association as President Elect and then
President. I have served the Association for
years at a level at which I felt useful and that
was appropriate for my family. I would like to
continue serving as Secretary to stay current
with the Association needs as it is my intention
to run for election of President Elect during
next-year’s election. As a member of the
Executive Committee, I also feel it is important
to represent our Association at the OAR and NAR
levels. To achieve this, I attend conferences
and conventions at the OAR and NAR level. I
serve on several committees within both
Associations. My participation in these
committees increases my contribution to our
Scioto Valley Association or REALTORS®. I will
continue to focus on theses specific areas:
Membership Services, Legislative Issues, Legal
Compliance, Membership Growth and Participation.

I have been a Realtor

I have served as a Director on the Board. I
have really enjoyed being on the board but my 2
years will be over with the upcoming election.
For this reason I would like to serve as
Secretary so that I can stay involved and learn
as much as I can about how the Association
works. I appreciate my fellow Realtors giving me
a chance to be a part of the SVAR Board. There
are a good group of people volunteering their
time and in my 5 years I have seen a big change
in the involvement and friendship amongst the
Realtors who are a part of the Scioto Valley
area. I am currently working at Coldwell Banker
Realty Champions in Chillicothe. My husband’s
name is Jeff and have 3 boys Luke, Matt and Gabe
ages 7, 17 and 18. I am a Chillicothe native

the events that they do to grow so that we can
draw more people to the Chillicothe area.
