February 2009 Newsletter

Wow, what an exciting start to the New Year!  During our first General Membership Meeting we

voted to purchase a building for the Scioto Valley Association of REALTORS Office.  We closed on

the building on January 30th and are planning to move in by the end of March.  There are a few things

we are planning to do to the building before we move in, such as removing two walls, painting, and

carpet.  We will be meeting with the building inspector to find out if we need a building permit to remove

the walls.  He has already told us we don’t need a building permit for the painting and carpet.  These

are minor improvements to our new space.  We will keep you informed of the progress and will be

having an open house.  It will be a very exciting event that you don’t want to miss.

The Leadership Conference, consisting of the Committee Chairs and the Board of Directors, met

and brainstormed goals for 2009.  We have been challenged with some great ideas.  Our professor for

the day was Bill Leib and now one of our goals must be to get rid of the clutter.  Other exciting things

planned for the year ahead are:

March ?  We will move into our new Building

April 24th The General Membership Luncheon

May 21st A Membership Dinner at the Emmitt House

                         June 4th The RPAC Auction

                         July 24th Our Affiliates Picnic

September 17th and 18th will be our Annual Election

October 29th The Halloween Party given by our Affiliates

                         December 11th The Christmas Gala

We hope you are as excited about 2009 as we are!  Our Association will continue to progress and

come together as a family.

Your President,

Datha McCoy
